The following steps are a guide to how we handle our projects – the process is flexible, depending on the size and complexity of each job.
1. Research
We cover everything including our client’s capabilities, their culture, who they are, who they want to be, their perception in the marketplace, their competitors. Without this process, how can we possibly produce the most appropriate design solution to meet the design brief?
2. Design Brief
Once research is completed and we have a better understanding of the client and their needs, we write a design brief in consultation with the client to ensure that everyone is on the same page as to the project requirements.
3. Conceptualising
With a written brief and research results to guide us, we begin designing concepts. We usually provide a few different design options to ensure that all angles are covered, and then allow for client amendments before arriving at the final concept.
4. Design
Once the final concept has been settled on, we produce the final artwork. This can involve anything from producing multiple logo versions for a brand identity project, coding and optimisation of a website, or producing the final high resolution artwork for a print project.
5. Production
Once the client has signed off final artwork, we deal with suppliers such as printers or web hosting services to complete the project. This might involve uploading a website for testing, or liasing with printers regarding production issues.
6. Review
We always follow up with our clients once a project is completed, to ensure that they are completely satisfied with the outcome.
